Jenn, Seth and their 3-child family recently met me at UC Berkeley for a family portrait session. Cal is a park-like setting which lends a perfect backdrop for family portraits, engagement photos, business portraits and, of course, weddings and other celebrations. As I’m a UC graduate, I have lots of favorite spots on campus for family portraits. The kids were active so I looked for a space that they could enjoy playing around in. The faculty glade, with grass and a few trees to climb was a perfect setting. And, the light was gorgeous.
The kids started off a little shy but after a some gymnastics, splits, backbends and handstands, they were ready to play in front of the camera.
They brought their dog for the family portrait. It’s hard enough getting a group of people to look good but having a dog makes it even more challenging. But look, I even got the dog to smile!
The kids had such fun they kept calling, “Hey Shoey, over here! Take me!” I was able to capture a large variety of attitudes from the kids.
Jenn, later told me I caught each of the kids’ personalities. That is best compliment.
